In the state of Arizona lies the city of city of Chandler. Located in the Maricopa County and adjacent to the cities of Mesa and Tempe, Chandler is a progressive city although it is not as big as Mesa. Chandler’s population is at 260,828 strong and is home to many commercial buildings and satellite locations for companies that deal with technology, such as Orbital ATK and IBM. Known as a city that manufactures computer chips thanks to IBM, Chandler has experienced prosperity because of the rise of demand over computer chips and parts through the years. The local government has taken advantage over this fact by partnering not just with IBM, but with other technology companies as well.

Home to many parks and recreational facilities, Chandler is also famous for the Ostrich Festival. In the old days, Chandler was a major agricultural hub and ostrich farms were numerous around the city due to demand for plumes that were used in women’s hats in the 1910s. Today, the local government hold this festival annually and it attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

In 2016, an organization that advocates non-profit parks and recreational facilities announced Chandler as 2016 Playful City USA. This was the 10th time that the city received this distinction.

Chandler is indeed a fun city to live and visit, which is why visiting this city during the Ostrich Festival is always a blast. Always remember to drive safely.
