The city of Mesa is located in Maricopa County within the state of Arizona. Known as the third largest city in Arizona, the city is home to 439, 041 people and the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University, one of the best secondary higher education schools in the state.

In 2015, Apple chose Mesa as the location for a new data center. This huge data center is located in the former GT Advanced Technologies plant.

Asides from the new data center, Mesa is also home to numerous historical places, such as the Alhambra Hotel, one of the oldest hotels in Arizona, and the Williams Air Force Base. Now a part of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, the airbase was once the training grounds of the United States Army Air Force and the USAF from 1941 until its closure in 1993. It is located near the Arizona State Polytechnic Campus and the Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
